The Gers is relatively new on the tourist map being France’s “empty quarter” which is under populated and unspoilt. Farming, wine and Armagnac making are the main industries, the country roads are deserted (four cars constitutes a traffic jam!) and in the small villages it seems as if time has stood still. The freshest air blows gently through the fields of vines and sunflowers, which surround us, and our neighbours are some of the friendliest people you could ever wish to meet.
Geographically, Lassenat St. Georges is between Auch and Condom, the region’s main towns, with colourful Vic Fezensac at 7 km. distance the nearest town. Vic is world famous for its Bull Fighting and Latino Music festivals, and in summer hosts special night markets where in an almost party atmosphere vendors offer a huge array of goods. Vic offers all principal services including banks, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, and there’s even a little cinema.
